Sustainability Financing

Centurion Corporation Limited’s Sustainability Financing Framework sets out how Centurion may enter into sustainable finance transactions to finance or refinance eligible green and/or social projects that contribute to environmental and social objectives.

Centurion is an owner, developer and operator in the Living Sector, with purpose-built worker accommodation assets in Singapore, Malaysia and China, and purpose-built student accommodation assets in Australia, the United Kingdom and China. The Group also has a build-to-rent asset in China and key worker accommodation in Western Australia.

Sustainability Financing Framework

The Framework provides overarching guidelines for the execution and management of sustainable finance transactions by Centurion and its subsidiaries, as well as, where applicable, Centurion’s interests in associates and joint ventures. Sustainable finance transactions under the Framework may include bonds, loans, revolving credit facilities, medium-term notes, convertible bonds, perpetual securities and other financial instruments.

The Framework has been developed in alignment with recognised sustainable finance principles, including the ICMA Green Bond Principles 2025, ICMA Social Bond Principles 2025, ICMA Sustainability Bond Guidelines 2021, LMA/APLMA/LSTA Green Loan Principles 2025 and LMA/APLMA/LSTA Social Loan Principles 2025. It also references internationally recognised sustainable finance taxonomies in relevant jurisdictions, including the EU Taxonomy, ASEAN Taxonomy and Singapore-Asia Taxonomy.

Eligible Sustainable Project Categories

Net proceeds from sustainable finance transactions under the Framework may be allocated to eligible green and social project categories, including:

  • Green Buildings
  • Renewable Energy
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Clean Transportation
  • Pollution Prevention and Control / Circular Economy
  • Climate Change Adaptation
  • Green Procurement / Responsible Procurement Practices
  • Affordable Housing
  • Access to Essential Services
  • Inclusive Infrastructures

Eligible projects may include acquisitions of new or existing accommodation assets, asset enhancement initiatives, capital expenditure, operating expenditure and other expenditures that sustain, improve or enhance Centurion’s assets and properties, subject to the eligibility criteria set out in the Framework.

Second Party Opinion

Centurion has obtained an independent Second Party Opinion from Moody’s on its Sustainability Financing Framework. Moody’s has assessed the Framework’s alignment with recognised sustainable finance principles and assigned it an SQS2 Sustainability Quality Score of Very Good.
